Privacy policy

The short version

Raw photos, videos, and project files stay on your device. Edie does not upload your raw media to its servers for AI editing. We do not sell your personal information, run advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Information Edie processes

• Editing requests.Prompts, transcripts, project structure, and analysis summaries may be sent to Edie's backend and AI service providers to understand and perform the edit you request.
• Device identity. The app creates an anonymous device identifier so the service can enforce limits and keep requests reliable. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
• Account identity.If you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us a stable identifier for your Apple ID and, only on the very first authorization, an email address — which may be one of Apple's private relay addresses rather than your real one. We use this to create an account that survives reinstalling the app or moving to a new phone, and to attach a subscription to you rather than to a single device.
• Subscription data.Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, tells us only whether your subscription is currently active and when it's set to expire — we never see your card details or billing address.
• Usage metering.We keep a monthly count of the agent messages sent by your account. That count is what enforces your plan's limits.
• Diagnostics. Sentry receives scrubbed crash reports, performance data, app version, operating-system details, and basic device information so we can find and fix failures. Prompts and raw media are not intentionally included in these reports.
• Support. When you send a support request, we store the reply email and message you provide so we can respond and resolve the issue.
• Website analytics. This website counts page views using Umami, a cookieless analytics service. It records the page address and title, the site that linked you here, your screen size, browser language, and coarse country, browser, operating system, and device type, plus whether you joined the waitlist. It sets no cookies, builds no profile of you across other sites, and never receives your email address. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, nothing is recorded at all.

How information is used

We use this information only to provide requested edits, operate and secure Edie, diagnose problems, enforce fair-use limits, and answer support requests. Service providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy obligations.

Retention and your choices

Local projects remain under your control on your device. Service and diagnostic records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve Edie. To ask about, correct, or delete support or service data associated with you, send a request through Edie support.

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. This is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting your account removes your account identity, your Apple sign-in link, your subscription status, and every device, project, session, and usage record tied to your account on our servers. It does not remove projects or media on your device — we never had those to begin with — and it does not remove a support conversation you've already opened or a waitlist signup, since both need to survive independently of any account so we can still reach you.

Changes

We may update this policy as Edie changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected here before they apply.
